Anti-Filler Rhinoplasty

Old filler treatments can sometimes lead to uneven results or complications. Anti-filler rhinoplasty involves two precise stages:

Removal of gel fillers: The surgeon meticulously extracts any lingering material.

While technically primary rhinoplasty, this approach often addresses the unintended effects of past interventions.

After-Threads Rhinoplasty:

Ultrasound Surgery: Precision and Minimal Trauma

Dr Grigoriak employs an ultrasonic piezosurgical device in rhinoplasty to reshape bone with incredible accuracy – down to a third of a millimetre. This method minimises damage to surrounding soft tissue, significantly reducing swelling and speeding up recovery.

Recovery After Rhinoplasty

Post-surgery, a lightweigh plaster cast is applied to maintain shape and protect the nose. This is removed within 7-10 days. While initial results are visible immediately, the nose will refine over a year as tissues settle and adapt.

Temporary side effects may include:

Moderate swelling and bruising.
Temporary loss of smell and nasal congestion.

Post-operative care includes:

Avoid wearing glasses (2-3 months post cast removal).
Take prescribed medication.
Refrain from physical activity for 1 month.
Avoid saunas, hot baths, and other heat exposure for 2 months.
Steer clear of bending or and body positions that causes blood to rush to the face.

Sutures and Access Techniques

Rhinoplasty can be performed using two approaches:

Closed Rhinoplasty:

All incisions are hidden inside the nostrils.
Allows precise, minimally invasive correction with no visible scars.

Open Rhinoplasty:

Includes a small incision on the columella (the area between the nostrils).
This tiny suture fades within 1-2 months and is barely visible after a year.

Cartilage in Rhinoplasty

Cartilage tissue plays a vital role in reshaping the nose during rhinoplasty. When the nasal tissues do not provide enough cartilage, additional cartilage is sourced from the following areas:

Nasal Septum

The most convenient and commonly used cartilage for rhinoplasty due to its accessibility and compatibility.

Ear Cartilage

Suitable for certain procedures, though its curved shape may not be ideal for all surgeries. Harvesting ear cartilages leaves a subtle, barely noticeable suture behind the ear.

Rib Cartilage

Often used for more complex procedures, this option requires additional time during surgery and results in a small cosmetic suture (3-4 cm) in the chest area.

Donor Cartilage

A sterile and safe alternative, used only with the consent of both the donor and the patient.
